"We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day."

Finally going to do this

I’ve already watched Part 1 before opening the book and I’ve yet to feel any kind of disappointment or resentment as if the movie were to ruin the story for me. The movie never made me attached to Harry, Ron, Hermione, and everyone in the Harry Potter universe. It was the books. It was always the books.

Even though I know who dies, what happened 19 years later, and other small tidbits of information like that, I’ve been holding out on starting Deathly Hallows because I couldn’t bring myself to finish the story— to finally close the book to this world I’ve grown up to, loved, and cherished.

With one week until July 15th, I’m finally going to immerse myself into the last book of the Harry Potter series, without knowing how the story will unfold, for the last time. Then on July 15th, I’m going to watch as Daniel, Emma, and Rupert play as the trio on the big screen for the very last time.

I’m finally on the road to ending this journey. I hope I’m ready for this.
